An AI examiner for TCF Canada and TEF Canada: it follows up, answers and interrupts you.
TCF TEF Study is speaking and writing practice for both French tests IRCC accepts, with 100% original topics, exam timing and an estimate of your NCLC level.
Which test are you preparing?
All 4 parts of each test: speaking simulator, writing correction, timed listening and reading, complete mock exams, guides and practice topics.
TCF Canada preparation
- Speaking: 3 tasks in 12 minutes, face to face
- Writing: 3 texts in 60 minutes, strict word limits
- Speaking and writing scored out of 20; NCLC 7 = 10 or 11 out of 20
- Listening and reading: 39 questions each, as practice or a mock exam
TEF Canada preparation
- Speaking: 2 sections in 15 minutes (on the phone, then convincing a friend)
- Writing: 2 texts in 60 minutes, including a letter of at least 200 words
- IRCC uses the “ancien score”; NCLC 7 = 310 to 348 in speaking and writing
- Listening and reading: 40 questions each, as practice or a mock exam

An examiner who behaves as in the exam
Elsewhere you talk and a machine replies. Here the examiner plays the role each task calls for, with the same timing.
She leads the interview and follows up
The examiner asks about you, then picks up on what you just said. Answer too short? She asks you to develop it.
She only answers what you ask
You ask the questions. She plays her role, volunteers nothing and doesn't know everything: you have to rephrase and dig for the information.
She interrupts and objects
While you argue, she cuts in to ask for an example, challenge an idea or raise an objection. A memorised speech does not hold up.
100% original, no recycled topics
No “recent exam topics”, no question banks rebuilt from candidates' memories. Every topic is written for this site, following the official format.
According to the TCF candidate handbook, the examiner may interrupt a candidate who seems to be reciting, and a memorised answer can be rated “below A1”. Candidate handbook
- Memorised answers won't protect you: our examiner interrupts too.
- You train the real skill: react, clarify, argue.
- Practice topics: TCF Canada · TEF Canada.

FAQ
Is this an official site?
No. TCF TEF Study is an independent preparation tool, with no link to France Éducation international (TCF) or CCI Paris Île-de-France (TEF).
How reliable is the score?
It is an estimate, shown as a range of NCLC levels. The official raters' detailed grid is not public: we rely on the published official criteria and CEFR descriptors, and we rate on the strict side. A performance that is too short never gets a score.
Why no “recent exam topics”?
Because memorising answers is risky: according to the TCF candidate handbook, the examiner may interrupt a candidate who seems to be reciting, and a recited answer can be rated “below A1”. Our topics are original and our examiner interrupts you: you build the real skill.
TCF Canada or TEF Canada: which one can I prepare here?
Both. TCF Canada (three speaking tasks, three texts) and TEF Canada (two speaking sections, two texts) each have their own section. TEF scores are estimated on the “ancien score” and converted with the IRCC table, the only one IRCC accepts.
What do I need?
A recent browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox), a microphone and an internet connection. The site is light and built for entry-level Android phones. Earphones help.
Are my recordings kept?
No. Your voice is transcribed as you speak and the audio is never kept. Your report (with the transcript) is saved so you can reopen it from its link.
